Depending on how many apps you have installed on your Windows 8.1 PC, that may be simple, or it could be a daunting and tedious task. Regardless of how you choose to sort the apps, you still have to sift through them to find the one you’re looking for. When you type a query in the Search charm and hit Enter, Windows 8.1 delivers comprehensive search results that include apps, files, information from SkyDrive, Bing Web search results, and even photos, music, and video related to the search term. With Windows 8.1, Microsoft evolved Search into Smart Search. The new Smart Search in Windows 8.1 provides a comprehensive, universal search. The maximum file size to upload is 16MB so the service is no good for larger files. There might also be a Show Meta Data button which displays more information for media files. A new tab will open with the required information about what the file’s type really is. Or, you can open the Search charm and just type “user” or “mou” to quickly jump straight to the User Accounts or Mouse settings. Wait for the file to be uploaded and then click the Check File Type button. You can right-click the Start button in Windows 8.1, select the Control Panel, and then navigate through the options to find the one you’re looking for. If you’ve used Windows long enough, you’re probably familiar with the Control Panel and the tools available there.
